Aqualung - SureLock II Weight Pocket Handles
Aqua Lung is conducting a voluntary recall of SureLock II weight pocket handles. SureLock II is the mechanical weight release system found on most Aqua Lung buoyancy compensators (BCs) beginning in 2009. Aqua Lung is concerned about the rubber handle pulling off of the plastic SureLock II weight pocket assembly. If this were to occur during a dive, the weight pocket would be left engaged inside the BC. There are no known occurrences of this happening underwater, and there have not been any reported injuries, but Aqua Lung believes that a recall is the safe and prudent thing to do. Aqua Lung has made a revision to the handle assembly that strengthens it. A revised handle is easily recognized by a thickened band of rubber at the base of the handle.

Consumers should immediately stop using their BCs with Sure Lock II weight pockets. Bring the pockets to your nearest authorized Aqua Lung Dive Retailer or Dive Center. They will be able to replace your handles for you while you wait, as changing handles is a quick process. The replacement is made under warranty and you will not incur any charges.
You may find your nearest Aqua Lung Dealer by using the dealer locator at www.aqualung.com.
Should you have any questions, please call Aqua Lung Customer Service at 877-253-DIVE (3483) or (760) 597-5000 outside the U.S.

Oceanic - VTX Personal Dive Computer
Oceanic is recalling VTX Wrist Units with serial numbers between 565 – 3632. Oceanic has identified a trend of VTX computers being returned due to water intrusion into the housing. The testing and evaluation of each returned VTX has identified an issue in the tolerances between the housing port and the shaft of the buttons, which has resulted in an unacceptable failure rate of about 3%.
As a result, they have developed a new housing which allows for very precise tolerances and additional testing procedures have been implemented in the quality assurance process.
New VTX computers will have housings beginning with serial number 5000, and all new and updated VTX computers will be produced using the new housing.
Oceanic has extended the warranty period on all VTX computers to three (3) years, and they will be releasing a Quality Alert to facilitate the return and replacement of all affected VTX Wrist units.
How to return affected VTX Wrist Units:
To expedite the return process, Oceanic has developed an easy to use web based RMA system. A dedicated processing department will process returns. All request for returns will be directed to and handled through this new web based RMA system. Please use the following link to log into their electronic RMA system to create an account, and begin the return process.
http://aup.rmaportal.com
This digital RMA system will allow for the prompt processing of affected VTXs computers. The RMA system allows 24/7 submission of return requests and real-time status of all returns.
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ONLY THE WRIST PORTION (RECEIVER) OF THE VTX COMPUTER IS RETURNED. ANY ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT AND/OR ACCESSORIES WILL DELAY THE PROCESSING OF THE RETURN, AND ANY ADDITIONAL ITEMS MAY NOT BE RETURNED.
If you no longer own the VTX Personal Dive Computer, please forward this letter to the new owner or have them contact us.
We thank you for your cooperation and support in returning any affected VTX WRIST UNITS. Oceanic strives to produce quality products and to promptly address any issues that may occur. We anticipate the in-house processing and updating of received VTX Wrist units to take approximately ten (10) business days, and we hope to make the return process as effortless as possible.
Thank you

Scubapro GALILEO SOL AND LUNA RECALL
SCUBAPRO has notified the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) that it is voluntarily recalling 1,486 UWATEC Galileo Luna and Sol dive computers sold in the United States beginning May 7, 2015. This provides you with information on the recall along with details on the logistics that will be used to complete the recall.
We learned from a small number of consumer communications that certain Galileo dive computers experienced screen freezes. No injuries have been reported. Out of an abundance of caution, and consistent with our safety-first philosophy, SCUBAPRO is voluntarily recalling dive computers with specific serial numbers.
The affected products are UWATEC Galileo Luna and Sol dive computers with these serial numbers:
  • Galileo LUNA: from 150422 0058 001 to 150903 0338 005
  • Galileo SOL: from 150423 0202 001 to 150921 0001 005
If your UWATEC Galileo Luna or Sol dive computer does not have a serial number in the ranges listed above, then it does not fall within the scope of this recall. Consumers with affected computers should return them to an authorized SCUBAPRO dealer or to SCUBAPRO directly. Please call our toll free hotline at 1-800-790-3757 to register for the recall and we will mail you a return form and a postage-prepaid box to return your affected units to us. Shark Shield Freedom 7
Date: 7/21/2015
Customers have reported that the Shark Shield Freedom 7 has appeared to not charge or appears to charge, but will not turn on.
The switch magnet is double protected from salt water by being sealed with a protective coating and two o-rings, however, on very rare occasions, possibly diving to deeper depths, the magnet may be exposed to salt water causing intermittent ON/OFF issues.
To resolve this potential problem, Shark Shield has implemented a new improved switch magnet coating with additional anti-corrosive properties in all new products shipping from April 2015, and have released a replacement switch kit available free of charge for you.
For questions regarding this improvement contact Shark Shield at (941) 462 4822 or email Shark Shield at Support@sharkshield.com

Suunto High Pressure Hoses
(DNW) - Suunto Oy today announced an important safety notice regarding its High Pressure Rubber Hoses. This global decision involves Cobra, Cobra 3, SM-36 pressure gauge and gauge combos, as well as Vyper and Zoop when purchased as combo products.

Suunto is voluntarily recalling all gauges or computers with high pressure hose purchased between November 1, 2012 and August 28, 2013 WITH the Production Lot Code: 1812
Suunto had a very limited batch of the high pressure rubber hoses used with their air integrated dive computers, dive computer combos and analog combos that have unfortunately been identified to have defective hose material which may impact the durability of the hose. This defect may cause the high pressure rubber hose to leak or rupture leading to loss of breathing gas at higher than anticipated rate which may result in severe injury or death. You must discontinue all diving activities with your Suunto gauge or computer with high pressure hose until getting it retrofitted with a free replacement high pressure hose by sending your high pressure hose into Suunto or taking to your local Suunto Dealer.

Action that YOU should take
  1. You can use Suunto’s Online Service Request to get your product picked up and delivered for the hose change.
  2. Bring your product to the nearest Suunto Dive authorized dealer or Suunto Authorized Service Center for a hose change. If you have any questions please contact Suunto at 855-258-0900 9am - 5pm PST Monday – Friday or email them. If you no longer own the Suunto gauge or computer with high pressure hose that might have an issue, please forward this letter to the new owner or have them contact Suunto directly.

Oceanic has announced a DVT Quality Alert2014
Oceanic has received isolated reports of DVT assemblies using a specific batch of DVT plungers extruding. Testing and analysis indicates that this occurs when the First Stage is only partially depressurized prior to the removal from the cylinder. Back pressure from the instrument console could cause the DVT Plunger to extrude. This affects Regulators with the DVT technology purchased between 11/01/12 and 06/13/13.
Oceanic has initiated a Quality Alert on all affected regulator first stages. Not all regulators are affected, please go to Oceanic's website at http://dvt.oceanicworldwide.com/ to check if your 1'st stage is affected.

The affected Regulator First Stage should NOT BE USED until it is inspected and the affected DVT Plunger replaced by an Authorized Oceanic Dealer Service Technician.

Please contact Oceanic toll free at (800) 435-3483 or via email service@oceanicusa.com. for additional assistance.
